Maldives Climate and Weather

The Maldives enjoys a warm tropical climate all year round, being located close to the equator. There are two monsoon seasons in the Maldives. From December to March is the warm and dry north-east monsoon, locally known as “iruvai moosun”. From May to November is the more wet and windy south-western monsoon, known as “hulhangu moosun”.

Year round, the temperatures range from a maximum of about 32 degrees celsius at mid-day, to a minimum of about 25 degrees celsius in the coolest time in the early morning. The humidity levels can be very high at times, rising to 75% to 80% depending on the monsoonal season.
